Filcom's 390th was held on the 28th of November via Zoom.
The meeting began with the Serg
eant-At-Arms Fouad reading out the club mission and meeting protocol. Right after, President Diana May who also took in as the Toastmaster of the Day, formally opened the meeting, and warmly greeted the guests and opened the musical night with the theme Thank You for the Music.
She introduced the role players for the night: Satish Shah as the Timer, and Khadar Hanan as the Ah-Counter and Swetha Raghuraman as the Grammarian.
💼PREPARED SPEECHES
3 Filcomites took over the reins of this segment.
1. Grace Moran, DTM delivered an informative speech and urged us to "Change your Brain"
2. Michelle Macaraig narrated us on how she is " Learning the Curveball" as a communicator.
3. Deepti Potnis enlightened us that "The Opposite of Networking is Not Working".
💼TABLE TOPICS
Table Topics are presented by Joseph Amande, DTM, who prepared different set of topics which involved and invoked a lot of creative sense to 5 brave speakers.
💼EVALUATION
Leo Ortega, DTM took over as the General Evaluator and introduced Philip Cherian, Nadim Bitar and Dennis Mujana, respectively , who provided their evaluations on their assigned speeches. Kit Barritt, DTM evaluated all Table topic speeches. Thereafter, the role players rendered their reports.

Word of the Day: Exhilarating
Filcom's 389th was held on the 14th of November via Zoom.
The meeting began with the Sergeant-At-Arms Fouad reading out the club mission and meeting protocol. Right after, President Diana May formally opened the meeting, and warmly greeted the guests. Then the virtual floor was handed over to the Toastmaster of the Day, Rinku Saha Mallik who shared some of the key strategies on how to live our lives physically, mentally and wholesomely.
She introduced the role players for the night: Leo D. Ortega, DTM as the Timer, and Khadar Hanan as the Ah-Counter and Stella Rosil Bechayda - Sabangan as the Grammarian.

2 Filcomites took over the reins of this segment.
1. Mohamed Sajath, broke the ice and took us through his journey as a "Believer".
2. Diana May Tangente urged us the importance of volunteering through her speech "Let's Talk about V".

Table Topics are presented by CJ Rojas, who prepared choice-based topics to the following speakers:
1. Joseph Amande - Would you rather lose the ability to ready or the ability to speak?
2. Mohammed Farooq, DTM - Would you rather know all world's languages or speak with animals?
3. Khadar Hanan - Would you rather have more time or more money?
4. Guest Anton - Would you rather have no one show up to your wedding or no one show up to your funeral?
5. Guest Yvonne - Would you rather have world piece or stop world hunger?
6. Stella Sabangan - Would you rather be an adult your whole life or a kid for whole life?
7. Hieu Huynh, DTM - Would you rather have a life rewind button or a life pause button?
💼EDUCATION SESSION
Nadim Bitar took over and presented the education session on "The Absolute Winning Speech" where he shared 6 principles of creating and writing an inspiring speech.
💼EVALUATION
Swetha Raghuraman took up the challenge as a General Evaluator for the first time and introduced Dennis Mujana and Mohamed Farooq, DTM, respectively , who provided their evaluations on their assigned speeches. Michelle MomCraig evaluated all Table topic speeches. Thereafter, the role players rendered their reports.

A Toastmaster Wears Many Hats
Word of the Day: Mummery
Filcom's 388th was held on the 24th of October via Zoom.
The meeting began with the Sergeant-At-Arms Fouad reading out the club mission and meeting protocol. Right after, President Diana May formally opened the meeting, and warmly greeted the guests. Then the virtual floor was handed over to the Toastmaster of the Day, Hieu Huu Huynh, DTM who rocked the virtual stage with his unique way to describe various roles, members play in #Toastmasters journey as well as in our common life. He also changed different hats to justify and explain each role.
He introduced the role players for the night: TM Dale Amazed as the Timer, and TM Rinku Saha Mallik as both the Ah-Counter and Grammarian.
💼PREPARED SPEECHES
3 Filcomites took over the reins of this segment.
1. Grace Moran Billington, DTM beautifully portrayed a vivid picture of her personal life where she wears different hats to play different roles through her speech – “Toastmasters wear many hats”.
2. Deepti Potnis shared her experience on how various cultural background makes us different and unique being a “Bridge walker”.
3. Michelle Macaraig explained the purpose of Leadership and how we all should be a “Mindful Leader”.

Word of the Day: Riveting
Filcom's 387th was held on 10th of October via Zoom.
The meeting began with the Sergeant-At-Arms Michelle Macaraig reading out the club mission and meeting protocol. Right after, Presidents Diana May Tangente and Fouad Al Fares, formally opened the meeting and warmly greeted the guests. Then the floor was handed over to the Toastmaster of the Day, Swetha Raghuraman, who took us through an interactive session with "A Tale of Two". Swetha introduced the role players for the night: Hieu Hynh, DTM as the Timer, and Sajath Shahnawas as the Grammarian.
💼PREPARED SPEECHES
Two prepared speech Speakers took over the reins of this segment.
1. CJ Rojas took us through a transformative journey of "Why"in his leadership development.
2. Krishanthan Soundarrajan recited his leadership development journey and assured that "Leaders are made, not born".
💼DEBATE SESSION
Leo Ortega, DTM moderated the debate session on the topic "Resolved that, Companies should be required to hire 50% male 50% female employees". The affirmative speakers were: Mustafa Syed and Nadim Bitar and the negative speakers were: Pooja Bhat and Rinku Saha.
💼TABLE TOPICS SESSION
Bidya Mohanty served as the Table topic Master and the following speakers spoke on the given topics:
1. Joseph Amande, DTM vs. Eno Budo: Has Covid made you Fit or Fat?
2. Alfonso and Ram: Advent of technology in our life is a boon or bane.
💼EVALUATION
Sunny Iype, was the chief judge for the debate session and introduced the evaluators: Nirmala Raghuraman, DTM and Fouad Al Fares the affirmative and negative team evaluators respectively, who provided their evaluations. The winning debate team and best debater was announced.
District 116 CGD, DTM Rajesh VC was the General Evaluator and introduced and called the speech evaluators, Shyam Sundar and Philip Cherian who gave their evaluations on their assigned speeches. The role players also provided their reports

Filcom's 386th meeting was held on 26th September 2020 via Zoom.
The meeting began with the Sergeant-At-Arms Fouad reading out the club mission and meeting protocol. Right after, President Diana formally opened the meeting and warmly greeted the guests. Then the floor was handed over to the Toastmaster of the Day, Dennis Mujana who treated us virtually with popcorns and juices by conducting the Speakaton Session!
Dennis introduced the role palyers for the night: Sajath as the Timer, Felipe as the Ah-Counter, and Swetha as the Grammarian.
💼PREPARED SPEECHES
Five Filcomites took over the reins of this segment.
1. Joseph, DTM enlightened us about "Lessons learned from the Mango Tree"
2. Raffy gaves us a new perspective on “The good side of loosing your job twice or may be thrice”
3. Diana took us through her journey of self-love and acceptance through her speech "Strong and Powerful"
4. Rinku gave us a lot of laughs and narrated about her quests in finding love through her speech "Fail in Love"
5. Grace, DTM candidly narrated us her life story of "Identity Crisis"
💼EVALUATION
Michelle took up the challenge of being a General Evaluator for the first time and she introduced and called the evaluators, Stella, CJ, Philip, Fouad and Nadim who gave their evaluations on their assigned speeches.
💼NEWSLETTER RELEASE AND THE BIG REVEAL
VPPR Swetha took over during the business session and released the first issue of The Edge Newsletter for the term. The Big Reveal for the first issue's cover has been unveiled with CJ Rojas being the face of this issue.

Filcom's 385th meeting was held on 12th September 2020 via Zoom.
The meeting began with the Sergeant-At-Arms Fouad reading out the club mission and meeting protocol. Right after, President Diana formally opened the meeting and warmly greeted the guests. Then the floor was handed over to the Toastmaster of the Day, Captain Rinku Saha who began with an "Ahoy!" took us through a beautiful Voyage of life!
Rinku introduced the theme "Bon Voyage!" and brought in a lot of laughter to us! Rinku introduced the role palyers for the night: Leo, DTM as the Timer, Felipe as the Ah-Counter, and Stella as the Grammarian.

💼PREPARED SPEECHES
Three Filcomites took over the reins of this segment.
1. Joseph, DTM began his journey in pathways by reintroducing himself and took us through a journey from "Toastmaster to Distinguished Toastmaster - what Changed?
2. Deepti enlighted us the importance of having a mentor through her speech "Guru"
3. CJ gaves us a handful of tips and tricks on "Staying Green during Quarantine"
All the speaker spoke beyond the prescribed speech duration hence, the voting for Best Speaker couldn't take place.
💼TABLE TOPICS
Roberto, DTM took the baton of Table Topics Session. Five people proactively took up the challenge of this impromptu speaking session including one guest.

2. Turkmenistan Hell’s Pit / Toastmaster Nadim
3. Mexico Cancun / Toastmaster Sajath
4. Space (Space X) /Toastmaster Hind

Dennis as General Evaluator introduced and called the evaluators, Diana, Hieu, DTM and Grace, DTM who gave their evaluations on their assigned speeches. Roberto, DTM also took up a challenge and gave a rapid evaluation of Table Topics. Thereafter, the role players delivered their reports and Dennis rendered his GE Report.
