322nd Meeting: Speakathon

5 Filcomites, which is more than the usual number of speakers, delivered prepared speeches at the 322nd meeting of Filcom International Toastmasters Club last January 13, 2018 in Tafawok Room at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Doha, Qatar; hence, Speakathon.

 

With the theme, New Year’s Resolution, Toastmaster of the Day, Nadim Bitar, started the meeting by explaining the importance of the theme as well as some tips on how to make & achieve them.

 

Then, without further ado, the 5 speakers delivered their speeches. They were:

1. Anahi Brown – SP 1, From Sashes to Aprons

2. Kavitha Ganesh – SP 1, Journey of a Homemaker

3. Ganesh Rajamoorthy – SP 2, Nobody is Perfect

4. Leo Ortega – Advance Speech, I Found Waze

5. Mohammad Farooq – Advance Speech, Persuasion

 

For this meeting, the 2nd part, Table Topics, was not conducted to give way to Speakathon.

 

In the Evaluation Session, Varghese served as the GE. First, he called the evaluators namely Rashed, Dennis, Tag, Philip & Shyam to give their feedback. It was followed by the role players’ reports such as Timer (Arjay), Ah Counter (Jessie) & Grammarian (Rechell). Varghese wrapped it up with his general observations of the meeting which were mostly positive.

 

The Best Speaker was Anahi & her evaluator, Rashed, got the Best Evaluator award.

 

Lastly, in the business session, new members were inducted. They were Rashed, Nancy, Hemakumar and Diana.
