Synergy is what happens when one plus one equals ten or a
hundred or even a thousand! It's the profound result when two or more
respectful human beings determine to go beyond their preconceived ideas to meet
a great challenge” – Stephen Covey.
SynerG 2021 – the Division G Toastmasters Annual Conference
(TAC-G) marked the first division contest for the term which took place of the
25th and 26th of February 2021, with the able leadership of Division Contest
team lead by Division G Program Quality Director, Alar Mel Mangai, DTM who
served as the TAC-G Chair and with the all-out support and guidance of Division
G Director Mou Bera, DTM.
This synergistic affair was a glorious one where the
champions from each Area – 25, 26, 27 and 28, battled out with one another in
each category to represent the most coveted District Toastmasters Annual
Conference 2021 (DTAC-21). The first day of SynerG 2021 kickstarted on a grand
note with the opening address of Division G Director and TAC-G Chair. The
dignitaries of the District 116 graced the occasion with their presence.
Day 1 of TAC-G comprised of the Speech Evaluation and
Humorous Speech Contest. Our daring Filcomites tackled each category valiantly.
Joseph Amanda, DTM and Swetha Raghuraman were constructive and encouraging in
their evaluations during the Speech Evaluation segment. Whereas, Leo Ortega,
DTM and Rinku Saha tickled our funny bones during the Humorous Speech Contest.
The second day of SynerG 2021 was much more vibrant and
glamorous as the first day. The final leg of the Division G Conference
kickstarted with the opening address followed by few words of wisdom from
Region 11 Advisor Sunil Kottharathil, DTM. The highlight of the second day was
the International Speech and Table Topics contests. The energetic and
empowering Filcomites exhibited their outstanding performance. Joseph Amande,
DTM and CJ Rojas persuaded and inspired the audience with their hear-warming
stories in the International Contest while, Stella Sabangan and Joseph Amande,
DTM were spontaneous with their response on the given topic during the Table
Topics segment.
SynerG 2021 is incomplete without the intriguing and
inspiring keynote session with Petra Choradol, DTM who taught us to Lead to
Grow and Glow in life and the colorful banner parade which showcased the
unique, diverse and strong representations of Division G.
Drumroll please! With the results announced, it is Joseph
Amande, DTM who took the top spot for Speech Evaluation and Table Topics
category and will represent at DTAC-21 on May 21-22, 2021 and compete with
other division qualifiers. Rinku Saha and Joseph Amande, DTM qualified as the
1st runner ups in Humorous Speech and International Speech categories,
respectively. Nevertheless, the Filcomites exhibited amazing synergy at the
division contest.
